Magazines¶
For users and managers. Agents use Statistics to see how a booklet performed.
A magazine is your multi-page booklet. Your first magazine is set up for your office. You do not start a new one from a blank template. Each edition is a copy of one you already have.
The usual next edition¶
This is the path offices use every time:
- Duplicate an existing magazine from the Magazines list (see below).
- In the window that opens, set the name, quantity, date, and office, then Save.
- When the name becomes a link, open it in the editor. A Building preview… label means page thumbs are still being made — you can work in the editor while that finishes.
- Reload so the booklet uses the latest listings marked for the magazine.
- Preview, walk the pages, fix anything that looks off.
- Order → Approve.
Picking templates and building a booklet from nothing is setup work. That is not this guide.
Duplicate¶
From the Magazines list¶
- Open Magazines. If you opened this list from Products (a piece tile), Back returns to that type’s pieces.
- Find the booklet you want to copy (usually the last approved edition).
- Click Duplicate. The window title is Duplicate magazine (or brochure / product when that is what you are copying).
- Fill in:
- Description — the name of this edition (for example the month or issue)
- Quantity
- Date — starts as today. You can still change it.
- Office
- Click Save.
The window shows a spinner while the booklet is copied. You can Close it: the copy keeps going in the background.
The new row appears on the Magazines list:
- Copying… — files are still being copied. The name is not a link yet.
- After the copy: the name is a link into the editor. Building preview… stays until the Pages thumbs are ready.
Reload the latest listings in the editor after you open it. That step is not part of Duplicate.
Reload the latest listings¶
Listings do not jump into the new copy on their own.
- On Properties, tick Mag (or Show in Magazine) on the listings that should appear. Some offices also have Mag Selector on Properties Current for bulk ticks — that still does not rebuild this booklet.
- In the editor, use purple Reload:
- Reload All — rebuild this booklet from those ticks (the usual step after a duplicate)
- + Add Property — add one or more Mag-ticked listings that are missing
- − Remove Property — drop one listing from this booklet only
Then preview and walk the pages. See Print Editor and Properties.
The order the listings land in (for example auctions first, then suburb, then price high to low) is a setting for your office. If you want a different order, ask support — see Magazine listing order on Office options.
Hold Mag, Mag Selector, Status, and other office settings (including possible paid AI tools) are listed on Office options even if your office does not have them on.
Some offices have Hold Mag. That option adds a Hold on / Hold off control on each pending magazine (magazines start unlocked). Turn Hold on for the booklet you are still working on so listings already in it stay on the pages after they leave the feed. Reload All still rebuilds from active Mag ticks — that is how you tidy the booklet. Unticking Mag does not take a listing out of a booklet; use Reload All or − Remove Property. Mag-ticked listings that left the feed stay on Properties Current in light red with a Sold / Withdrawn / Off feed label.
Continue an unfinished magazine¶
The Magazine card on the home screen opens your latest unfinished booklet. You can also open it from the Magazines list.
Fillers and inserts¶
Fillers are artwork in a gap (an advert or brand panel). Inserts are special fixed pages (a cover or a PDF).
Your first magazine already has these set. For a normal edition you rarely start them from nothing — you change them only if this issue needs different artwork. Use Fillers on the editor rail for this booklet, or the Fillers library if your office keeps shared artwork. Some offices have Enhanced Fillers (span, bleed, and inset / gap). See Office options.
Approve¶
When the preview looks right: Order → Approve in the editor.
The approved print PDF is the same booklet as that preview — same listings, same page count. Sold listings that are not on the preview pages are not added at Approve.
The job then appears under Orders. See Orders.
After you approve¶
Back on the Magazines list, the approved row gains a few controls:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Download Proof / Download | Opens the approved PDF in a new tab. It is grey with … while the file is still being made. On some booklet types this button is View and opens the online magazine instead |
| Publish eBook | Publishes the online edition — the flipbook people open from a link or QR. Greyed Publish eBook… means the file is still being made |
| Download Trimmed | Downloads a trimmed PDF — only on booklets your office has set up for it |
| ✉ | E-mails the booklet |
| Duplicate | Starts the next edition from this one |
Opens and reads of the online magazine appear on Statistics → Magazines.
Hide a magazine (managers)¶
A cancelled magazine is hidden from the Magazines list. It is not deleted.
- Open the booklet in the editor.
- Click Edit, then Order details.
- Set Status from Pending to Cancelled.
- Click Save.
You then return to the Magazines list. The row is gone. Approve still happens from the green Order button — not from this Status menu.
